As a product line, is Leviton doing any new development? Or, just going to rake in the meager profits and let the product line die? I REALLY love this HAI product line. I'm 20+ years on this.. 3 expansion enclosures.. All sprinklers, drapes, lights and other misc things controlled via HAI panel.
The HAI product line is basically dead. Lots of components are no longer available. It is very unfortunate that Leviton just acquired HAI and never did anything with it. https://www.stevesfanclub.com is a site run by a guy who works for Worthington (who were big fans of HAI) and has been posting occasional updates related to HAI availability.
In this day and age of advanced system-on-a-chip computers (e.g. the Raspberry Pi), it is surprising to me that somebody hasn't come out with a next-generation security system with (100M!) ethernet connectivity. I look at the smart displays available from companies like 4D Systems (see, for example their 4.3" capacitive color touchscreen with bezel https://4dsystems.com.au/products/featured-products/gen4-ulcd-43dct-clb) and think "I bet those would make really nice consoles" (they even sell a version designed specifically for a single-gang electrical box: https://4dsystems.com.au/products/home-building-automation/4discovery-35 )
Then I think about this new security system having a real API and directly integrating in to the (fantastic, open-source) Home Assistant (https://www.home-assistant.io ) for automation and integration with everything else Home Assistant supports.
I know about konnected.io and https://github.com/konnected-io/konnected-security and that's a decent start, but I want something more "polished" than that... something like Konnected, but with 16 zones as a base, wired ethernet and decent console options for easy usability by guests / family members.
