Frank,
I believe if you connect a common wire on terminal 3 of the tstat, and connect it back at the common at the furnace transformer, it will solve the problem.

Look at figure 7 on page 8..

Having an issue with getting the RC-1000 to work properly. Should be a simple installation but I definitely overlooking something.

I'm changing from a RC-100 thermostat to a RC-1000. The existing RC-100 works just fine.

I have a Carrier single stage heat pump, it uses only one 24 volt transformer.

I remove the RC-100 and installed the RC-1000, connected wire, thermostat lights up, configured the RC-1000 for heat pump, connection to HAI functioning, fan turns on and off manually. BUT when I select heat, the compressor just clicks and doesn't start up.

Since there are only 5 wires, 2 for the 24 volt, 1 for the reversing valve, 1 for the fan, and one for the compressor relay should be a no brainer. The jumper is on for using one 1 24 volt transformer.

I've have checked the settings in the RC-1000 and they are as per instructions for heat pump.

I have links to a photo of the RC-100 base and the RC-1000 base with the wires connected.

I switched back to the RC-100 and everything works fine.

Help!
