I originally installed a SimplySmartHome Q2000 which was an OEM of the OmniPro. I swapped out the SSH chip and installed a HAI chip, version 1.9. To get the programming/config moved, I had to go through every setting with the SSH program and once the HAI chip was installed, re-enter everything using the HAI s/w; it wasn't a difficult thing to do, but the double/triple check of everything to make sure it was right took up most of my time.

Note, we are going back in time so my memory might not be 100% but I believe you would lose the speech features found in the HMS but not the original OmniPro (later included in the OmniPro II). There might be a couple other differences that I don't remember.
