  Yes, I see many rule emails are missed by web-link. Are you running the latest version of web-link? They claimed to have cured the rules not firing problem. I have not upgraded to the latest as yet since the new ver will only run on XPPro.

  Yes, I have Verizon DSL in one house, but there is no PPPoE authentication SW on any PC of the network.  Actually, the house has a DLink 614+ router with PPPoE dynamic enabled, along with ID and password entered.  I believe the ID and password in the router are to allow the DSL modem to connect to the DSL account.

   

  I think the issue is that regardless of the email software you use (Outlook Express, Outlook, etc), for Verizon DSL, one has to configure the email software to authenticate the smtp server with your ID and password for any outgoing mail.  I haven't been able to do any other way (i.e. use the ID and password in the router).  One can use a different smtp and POP3 server from a different ISP (like Direcway), but again, the outgoing email is rejected by Verizon unless authentication is checked and account ID and password entered.  So, therefore, any emails from Web-LinkII always fail since it is not associataed with any outgoing authentication.  At another house with Direcway, the emails from Web-LinkII work fine.

   

  So, Denis, have you been successful with outgoing emails with Web-LinkII with the new FIOS service?

   

  Also, has anyone seen failures of rules entered in Web-LinkII such that the rule occurs in the OmniII or Omni, but Web-LinkII sometimes misses it, and thus, the rule isn't evoked?  This occurs in an application where the server computer is connected to the Omni via an RS-232 port.

  I am assuming you have DSL. and they loaded the PPPoE authentication SW on the PC and the use an Ethernet cable between the PC and the DSL modem.
  I have the new FIOS service, and instead of loading any software on any of the PCs, they provided a DLINK 604 router with the PPPoE enabled and we put  the account and password in the router. 

  What you may be able to do is use a cheap router that supports PPPoE, and MAC address cloning (Most linksys routers support) and give the router your account info. If it does not connect, use the Ethernet address clone feature and give the router you MAC address from your PC to use on the WAN side of the connection. 

  On my router the PPPoE selected is for DSL links, and the style of PPPoE is dynamic.
