I'm not excited over the prospects (which still strike me as a bit
unlikely, and I'm not putting CU in the "W" column yet), but should it
happen I would cheer for Northwestern again. I may wear red, but I still
bleed purple.
BTW, there are more than a few people who feel that Nebraska's RUTS
against Northwestern with Frank Solich's active support (since confirmed
by several Husker players in that game) is the bad karma that led to the
demise of Frank Solich at Nebraska and the many problems that followed,
which aren't completely solved yet. (Sorry, but a win over a dispirited
and rather pathetic Kansas State doesn't wipe out that debacle in Norman
and the sting of last year's record-setting loss to Kansas will take a
long time to heal.)
BTW, the Wall Street Journal has a column up today on the prospects of an
all Big 12 South National Championship game. Stranger things could happen.
(I don't remember the WSJ being all that up in arms over another NC
game that was a rematch, though.)
