Hello,
We have a 12 year old HMS 1050 system that has worked flawlessly. Even the
programming has not been changed in years.
Recently we noticed our telephone (land line) was not working.
Since the line worked at the demarcation box I unplugged the HMS1050 from
the RJ31X jack and the line then started working.
It is consistent, when the HMS1050 is connected to the RJ31X the phone won't
work so it looks like the HMS1050 is seizing the line and not releasing it.
I contacted HAI about it and they said it sounds like a bad controller but
they don't repair them anymore and don't supply parts.
Anyone see this before? Any suggestions?
I am skilled with a soldering iron and can do board level repairs but am not
an EE and don't know what parts might need replacement.
Thanks for any and all info.
