Here are a couple of suggestions:

1) Set the "Pickup After Hangup" to "0" (i.e. No).
2) Set the "Dead Line Detect" to "0" (i.e. Disable).

On a console, press 6, and then 4, and then press the down arrow. With the phone on hook, what is the number next to "Phone"? Then, take the phone off hook and see what the number next to phone changes to. Based on those numbers, you may need to adjust the "Off Hook Detect" vaule.

Subject: [Hai-users] VoIP compatibility

Has anyone run into compatibility issues with VoIP and Omni panels? I
have one of the original OP2s, which has worked well with Verizon POTS
service for years. I recently switched to Comcast VoIP (using an RCA
eMTA) and have had problems ever since.

There are a few details I can provide:
1. The general state of the system is PHONE LINE DEAD.
2. Immediately after hooking up the phone line to the RJ31X jack I get
System OK, then about a minute later it reverts to phone line dead.
3. When I pick up a phone in the house I do not get the click that
allows local access.
4. All of the house phones (which are wired through the RJ31X) work fine.
5. When someone calls, the OP2 will frequently pick up on one ring and
beep. Then if there's another call a minute later it doesn't pick up.
This activity will typically trigger the OP2 problem alert beep at the
keypads.

Comcast has been out twice and concluded that the OP2 isn't compatibile
with VoIP and needs to be replaced. I find this hard to believe.

I have a suspicion that the line voltage put out by the eMTA is lower or
more variable than the POTS service, but that's just a guess. Maybe
changing to a different model would help?

Any ideas? I assume others have used the various Omni panels with VoIP
successfully, how about with the RCA eMTA?
