Why are you losing the RC-80's what is happening? Maybe you need an
isolation relay (HAI product) if it is being fried somehow. Give me some
more details I might be able to offer you some assistance in
troubleshooting. I helped figure out a problem with 128 RC-80 thermostats
in an apartment complex, your situation should be simpler to figure out.
To answer your second question and well to plug my own product....
We make FIDOH, it is a simple program that connects directly via the
internet to your Ethernet based HAI/OnQ/Aegis control systems. It will work
serially as well, but does require a windows pc operating like web-link but
does not need a MS web server running.
It gives a quick access to your buttons, and double click access to
everything else including audio.
Free Trial can be accessed from our website, www.architechtronics.com.
If you like it is 39.95, and immediate download or available through
Smarthome.com and EECOL in Canada.
Also we have a Linux version coming soon and we are looking for Beta
testers, if interested contact me directly.
Lastly, I apologize if I offended anyone by suggesting our product.

Subject: [Hai-users] Lifespan of RC-80s and monitoring service question
Has anyone else had repeated failures of RC-80 thermostats? I've been
through two in about 18 months. I've temporarily put back the old Honeywell
Chronotherm, which I don't like, because I'm afraid to put another RC-80 in
only to lose it.
Also, I'm giving some thought to some of the more net-friendly monitoring
services. Has anyone found one that's got a decent user interface, and
speaks the digital communicator protocol? I suppose I could just put
Web-Link II up on a known port, but I don't like exposing Microsoft web
servers directly to the Internet.
Thanks,
