[Hai-users] Update: Sharing a TW-523 with ADICON RLY8XA

Thanks for the note, Brad. I'm happy to respond. (Great eMail address,
by the way.)
The Expansion Enclosure does not work with the Omni IIe. The Omni IIe
has a strip connector
for an Expansion BOARD, which only adds 16 zones and no relays. That
looks similar to
the serial module for the line. The Omni IIe accepts up to two of
these, according to the docs.
The Expansion Enclosure, the unit that does NOT work here,
(and I'm sure you know) uses port A and B on the barrier strip (acting
as a console).
I tried using it, could see zones (nothing connected) but not control
units. This test
hosed the wireless receiver, so it looked like it was attempting to do
something bad
on the console bus. (It also locked the keypads when powered-down but
connected.)
I never bothered to test the zones to see if they would change status,
since my goal at
the time was to access the relays as control units. I may test the
zones before I remove
the EE if someone REALLY REALLY begs me, but HAI has told me it is an
unsupported configuration.
(Actually, they said it won't work, stuttered, and said I could try but
they wouldn't support it.)
