[Hai-users] RadioRA keypads (and possibly others)

I would like to have some RadioRA keypads initiate macros within an Omni Pro
II. I have never used RadioRA before, but am familiar with the product
line. I know I'll need an RF repeater and an RS232 interface. I will NOT
have any RadioRA dimmers or switches installed. I will only use RadioRA
keypads.
I talked to my Lutron rep to get some samples so I can try this before
installing. He replied with basically "it won't work". He got this answer
after talking to tech support. I don't think he understood what I want to
do.
In looking at PC Access, it seems very easy to do what I want. I line of
code like this should work:
WHEN UNIT 1 SW2 PRESSED: RUN BUTTON 2
If UNIT 1 is a RadioRA keypad, then when switch #2 is pressed, I can run a
macro (button) in the Omni.
For those of you with experience with HAI and RadioRA, please let me know if
this will work.
The big picture is this: A UPB lighting system is installed, along with UPB
keypads, which work very well. But, there are a couple of locations where
UPB keypads (none from any manufacturer are acceptable) just don't "look
right" due to the design of the room. So, the customer would like an
alternative keypad option. They like the RadioRA large button style. So,
what will really be happening, is the Omni will send a UPB link command in
response to a RadioRA button being pressed. The Omni also has control of
blinds, so a RadioRA button will also be sending serial strings to the blind
controllers.
I will also take suggestions for other nice looking keypads (no paper
labels, must be engraved buttons) that will provide this capability. Price
is not a concern at this point.
Regards,
Dan
