[Hai-users] Sun sensor

Couldn't you place one water temperature sensor at the exit of the collector
and one in the pool and run the pump when there is some minimum delta? Or
perhaps you're thinking the gained heat may be disipated between the exit of
the collector and the entry into the pool? I'd agree that the problem get's
much more difficult to solve if you try to take that heat loss into
consideration, but I'd think an increase in the delta to overcome the heat
disipation returning to the pool would suffice.

Actually, the challenge of using delta temperatures requires the pump to
operate.

Turning the system off will be the easy part. When the delta is zero; shut
the pump off.

You would have to write a program to run the pump for maybe for 5 minutes to
determine if the system is creating a positive temperature differential
(delta). You may have to write the program to check every hour or so until
the solar heater is doing its job.

There are photo cell that work with HAI, but they only determine night and
day, and not how bright the day is. To do that I would expect you will need
a computer program to do this efficiently.

Actually, let me make a minor correction to that. Instead of comparing the
temp to ambient, you need to compare it to the water temp.
