[Hai-users] Strange OP2/X10 problem

If changing the programming does not heed you any results, you could have a
problem in the power line.

This is where having one of the several X-10 tester on the market are worth
their weight in gold. X-10 can be very temperamental. You could have one
of many different problems. The first one that comes to my mind is the mini
controller signal to turn the light on is too weak for the light to "hear"
it, but strong enough for HAI to "hear" the signal. The best X-10 Tester I
have found is the Monterey Test Instrument but it goes for $2-300. Smart
Home came out with a simpler one, and I think it is under $100. I still
prefer the Monterey. However both will work.

Subject: [Hai-users] Strange OP2/X10 problem

Got a little X10 mini-controller from RS to toy around
with. I named an X10 unit on the OP2 "front" and
programmed thusly: when front on, hall lights on.
Simple.

But, and there's always a but, when I press the
appropriate button on the controller, no lights. If I
am looking at the unit status screen on PCAccess, I
see the unit called "front" go on when the controller
button is pressed. The strange thing is that if I
turn "front" on manually through the command screen in
PCAccess, the lights come on.

So....why won't the program respond to the unit going
to an on state via X10, but will respond if the unit
gets turned on manually?
