If the software never shows "online", there may be a problem with the serial
cable, or the PC's com port (or it's configuration). Simply plugging in the
correct serial cable will make it display "online", even if the alarm isn't
physically connected...

Subject: [Hai-users] Serial Access (Aegis 2000 - OP2)

I recently sent an Aegis 2000 off for a three week tour of New Orleans.
Once it returned, my attempts to download software to it through the
serial port have been unsuccessful.

The serial card has the normal blinking light. No activity light.

The software never goes ONLINE.

I have enabled the serial card through the panel, and have
made sure to verify the proper code is in the panel.

And today I noticed the laptop power supply has been killed.
(There was a slight "bite" when my arm brushed the panel last night.)

Any thoughts on reviiving the serial card after I revive the laptop?

Thanks.
