Now that I have a little perspective, I just want to let everyone know what a fantastic experience I had last night cheering on the 'Cats in Stony Brook. This was my first 'Cat LAX game ever, and I loved it. So nice to Expect Victory--and to walk out after the game with my good friend Sandy Sacks (Mr.NUAlumni in NYC), and feel happy about a well-played win, rather than lamenting yet another bittersweet"moral victory-- e.g., our ride back to Sandy's hotel in Tampa after the Outback Bowl.

Stony Brooks's stadium was comfortable and an attractive venue, and the pre-game tailgate organized by the parents was terrific.

There was a vocal and enthusiastic crowd of NU supporters, and we clearly outnumbered and "out-cheered" the Terp fans.

As for our team, they are as talented and focused as one could ask for. His was a tough, hard-nosed contest, and Kelly's troops were relentless after falling behind 6-4 early in the Second Half.

We sat next to Lacey Vigmostad's mother and shared in her pride and delight when Lacey scored a key goal during the Second Half run. Lacey went to high school just down the road in Nortport, Long Island.

Which brings me to my final point. There were several local players who played for the 'Cats and Terps, as well as the Gators and the Orange. I have no doubt that KAH will pick up some more key recruits in the Stony Brook area, a hotbed of women's LAX. SPeaking of Florida andSyracuse, the first game was unbelievable, as 'Cuse made a comeback for the ages.

I will be watching on ESPNU tomorrow night, and rooting hard for our women.
