The SEC-Big XII Bowl announcement,and some news earlier this week raises some interesting topics:


- As SJT mentioned, the Fiesta Bowl is now lacking it's Big XII tie-in.
- Dr Phillips, earlier this week, mentioned the Pinstripe Bowl to Jim Delaney


Can the conference use this event as an excuse to improve our bowl lineup ?


Are there any other bowl destinations that you would like to see ?


Are there any current Big Ten bowls that you would like to see go away ?


Our current lineup features one California bowl


Three Florida bowls


One Arizona bowl


Two Texas bowls


and one Detroit bowl.


Clearly, we should try and get rid of Detroit on the day after Christmas.  That date makes national travel very difficult.  I know the Bowl in Detroit has been a very loyal partner, and George Perles obviously has strong ties, but this one practically screams out for MAC/at-large ties.


I would like to see one more California bowl - the Holiday Bowl, perhaps ?  San Diego is one of the greatest cities to visit.


Three Florida Bowls seems about right, and Orlando and Tampa are both great destinations.  Miami or Fort Lauderdale might be preferable destinations to Jacksonville, however.


The two Texas bowls were both great destinations, and our recent bowl trips were both great experiences.  I do miss San Antonio and El Paso, however - those trips were extremely enjoyable also.
