[NU Sports] Illinois wants Chicago game every other year

Don't they know that Notre Dame bought the "rights" to be the Big Time Chicago team from
the University of Chicago when they dropped football?

After all, that's how the Sun-Times sees it?

But I bet there is some big Ill-noise Alum calling the AD on the phone griping about how
Ill-noise people think they own Chicago in basketball, and think it should extend now to
football. As I recall, Wisconsin and Michigan have more alums in Chicago than the
Ill-whine-I. (NU would be up there, but most of our alums seem to live in DC, LA, and NYC)

The best evidence of the success of a marketing campaign is when it forces your
competitors to change their plans.

Every effort by the Illwhiny to schedule more games in Chicago only reminds those who care
that NU IS Chicago's BT team.

For example, if Illnoisy AD is able to schedule a non-con game in Chicago and somebody on
the street asks an Ill alum why the game is in Chicago rather than on campus, they are
likely going to say that Illinois wants to prove that Northwestern isn't the only BT team
in town.
