Something of a relief to get a #2 bid after being totally outplayed for the first time since pre-2005, but it's probably deserved.
NU completely dominated Notre Dame a couple of weeks ago, so I'm fairly optimistic about the Cats chances there, particularly with KAH having a week to retool. The Duke or Virginia matchup wouldn't be a gimme, but the Cats should be the better team in either case, and handled both teams fairly easily.
Maryland would be a stout challenge to be sure. If they get by that, the title game would be really interesting. I believe Syracuse already beat Florida once this year, and the Cats squeeked by them in OT. But, like the Cats, they had a bad day in their final conference tournament game. If Florida gets by 'cuse, well, the flat-out look to be a slightly better team than NU. But can anyone beat the Cats three times in one year? Hard to say.
NU certainly didn't play anywhere near their best game on Saturday, but they really had trouble stopping Florida's drives to the goal, and had almost no success generating any offense themselves--a trend that continued from the first meeting. That disadvantage could be overcome with winning more possessions, but they just got *crushed* on draw controls. That's probably the first thing they need to fix.
