High school students get 5 points for an A in Adcanced Placement classes. Thus, one get get well over a 4.0 average, depending upon how many AP classes have been taken. One of my sons had a 4.3 average in high school, yet he was rejected by NU. No enough extra-curricular activities for NU, I guess. We were all quite disappointed at the time, but he went to UCLA, and he has greatly enjoyed his time there.
