SJT's invocation of the Mason example is a chilling thought. Far too often as a sportswriter I hear "we hired Coach X" to take us to the next level" and Coach X sure does ... the next level down that is. 

Carmody is not an embarrassment behavior-wise like O'Neill was and as noted has brought NU unprecedented success. I can see sacking him but best be careful about it.
