In 1991, a former Creighton University basketball player sued the school.

When he took the ACT exam in high school he scored in the bottom 20%.
How he got admitted to Creighton was not explained, but clearly Creighton
could not have applied the same standards they did for other applicants.
During the time he was at the school (1978-1982) he had a D average and got 96
credit hours (out of 128 needed to graduate), but according to his court filings
they were mostly in courses like 'Marksmanship' and 'Theory of Basketball'.
At the time he left school, he was said to have only 4th grade language skills
and a 7th grade reading level.
I'd like to think this couldn't happen in 2012, but I'm not convinced it couldn't
still happen at SOME schools.
