Although the NCAA would have been infinitely better, the NIT is a nice stage for 
Shurna to get to his well-deserved 2,000.

Profoundly anticlimactic for an NU fan.  NU had ample opportunity to qualify for 
the NCAAs and couldn't get it done.  Sad.

Am not going to debate whether the NIT is "better than nothing," but will 
support the purple and always root for the best experience and success for the 
kids who represent NU Nation.

I would have been thrilled to have gotten a bid.

But we did not deserve one. We needed to beat Minnesota, and did not.

Now whatever happens in the NIT happens will happen. Frankly, the NIT simply 
sets the stage for the debate over the future of the program.
