I thought Golf ratings were based on total $$$ winnings.

Luke hasn't made a lot of loot so far this year.

According to ESPN, the selection committee chose 37 at-large teams yesterday, although
there could be additional at-large teams based on who wins today.

The Wall Street Journal has an interesting piece today on how golf chooses its #1 player.
Luke Donald dropped out of the #1 slot in the latest rankings. The story raises questions
about how Donald got the #1 ranking despite not having won a major, and also notes that
Tiger Woods remained the #1 player for 11 months, despite playing in only 12 tournaments
in that time period, with only two top-10 finishes.
