[NU Sports] Spring Practice! - First Trib Story

Personally, there are times I prefer watching on TV over being there in person.
I would rather watch Football from the pressbox, the stands if absolutely necessary.
Football has been described as short periods of violence followed by committee meetings,
and while instant replay is good, most times you can get a better flavor of the game from
up top.
Basketball is something else. I prefer to watch from high up, so I can see all of the ball
movement, but then you miss a lot of the interplay on the court. TV shows that a lot, so
TV is really my preferred way to watch Roundball.
On Baseball and Softball - I'm spoiled since I tend to be either scoring or announcing (or
both) games so I like to be back behind the home plate with a computer on the desk.
Personal opinions, but there are a bunch of other reporters who like what I send out on
baseball and softball.

I notice that in the Tribune (and I think other papers), if the reporter is on location,
the article will indicate the location at the beginning of the article. Greenstein's
article about the Iowa game didn't have such an indication, so he wasn't on location.
Other articles in today's Tribune sports section have such indications, such as the
articles about the Bulls that indicate "Philadelphia" at the beginning or articles about
Cubs spring training, that indicate "Mesa, Ariz." at the beginning.
As Roy noted, all of Greenstein's quotes could have come from the radio or TV.
