[NU Sports] All time cat B-Ball team

I don't think that anyone could have made that shot. Wasn't Shurna's
fault. Just took too long for Sobo to get the ball upcourt.

Carmody is supposed to be the master at designing those last minute
plays. The previous play to Hearn that tied the game is a good example.
But whatever he worked up on the board during the timeout after Hummel's
basket was too well defended.

It should not have come down to that last shot anyway. Game was lost
because NU failed to take care of the basketball (16 turnovers 21
points).

After playing a great game against MSU, this team has lost its way and
forgotten how to win. We used to be able to blame it on Luka, but he is
now a non-entity. The blame has to ultimately fall to Carmody and the
coaching staff. There is clearly enough talent on this team to win, but
there doesn't appear to be enough mental toughness and leadership to go
out and grab an opportunity when they get it. Against Purdue, they kept
coming back and coming back, but just couldn't get over the hump. Sobo
is a great kid, and will be a great player for NU, but down the stretch
here we are really missing Thompson.

Jeff

Jim Stack would have made that last shot to beat Purdue on Saturday.
