[NU Sports] All time cat B-Ball team

Walker Lambiotte was a highly touted tranfer to NU from the NC State, but it didn't work out well. Brian Jung transferred from Arizona and was the starting center and NU's first seven-footer when I was a freshman and the Cats won just two conference games, but beat eventual national champ MSU w/Magic Johnson.
And based on success at NU, like it or not, Carmody is probably the "all-time" coach or at least in the top few (Lonborg, Glass, too).
The discussion of NU hoops tradition (and lack thereof) is very depressing. :)
And Jeff Bzdelik, based on later endeavors, might be NU's most decorated former assistant coach.

My mistake about Coble. I intended to write this note after Coble's name but forgot to: I think Carmody had a lot to do with Coble leaving so they are both to blame.
True about Walters and Carlisle but I said what could have been. Sad to say Carlisle won an NIT title(yes it is meaningless though we would all be happy if the Cats won an NIT title) with California and Walters got to the Final Four with Kansas and ended up getting drafted in the NBA. Neither would have accomplished that with Northwestern. If they left Northwestern to ride the bench it would have been stupid. Saying that I don't want any talent to ever leave Northwestern and welcome transfers.
We don't pout when we get transfers such as Kyle Prater(USC), Jeff Roehl(Notre Dame) and JohnHenry Pace(University of Miami). All I can recall right now. Don't recall any basketball player transfers.

<Shon Morris
<Kevin Coble
<What could have been with Rex Walters and Geno Carlisle.
Shon's not a bad choice, but Rex and Geno deserted the sinking ship and don't deserve the ignominy of being on an all-time Northwestern basketball list. I mentioned Coble in my post.

While we're at it, why not an all-time Cat basketball team?
Center - Evan Eschmeyer
Guard (shooting) - Billy McKinney
Guard (point) - Juice Thompson
Forward (power) - Don Adams
Forward (shooting) - John Shurna
Bench (guard) - Terry Gambert, Jim Burns
Bench (forward) - Tim Doyle, Vedran Vukusic
Bench (center) - Kyle Rowley (OK, I'm joking. Face it. Other than Esch, we've
ever had a good center)
Coach: Morice Fredrick Winter (and even he wasn't very successful at NU)
Eschmeyer and McKinney are no-brainers, but some of you may be asking, "Don and
erry who?" For you youngsters, Adams was a 6' 6" wi-i-i-ide-body from the late
60s who spent a number of years as an NBA journeyman thanks to his rebounding
nd defensive skills. He remains the only true power forward in my memory to
ver play for Northwestern and may be the school's best pure rebounder of all
ime. He didn't score much, but he kept the other team from scoring, especially
n put-backs. Could we ever use him now! Gambert, now a judge, was a slick
all-handler and adroit passer from the same era and could shoot as well. Jim
urns likewise was from that same era, an all-Big 10 selection at guard his
enior year and enjoyed a cup or two of coffee in the NBA and the old ABA. (He
s now an Illinois state's attorney and ran for governor in the 90s. You know
e lost because he's not in jail.) There should be a guy named Coble on this
oster, but he went from hero for how he tre
ated his mother to the defecation list for deserting his team mates and blowing
he opportunity for a free master's degree.
