I couldn't remember Kevin Rankin's name to save my life.  However, I did remember that he was plodding and couldn't rebound well in a crowd despite being 6' 11" and BI-I-I-IG.  Yes, he is second in rebounding all-time at NU to Eschmeyer, but Jim Pitts is fourth, and the fact that he is demonstrates just how bad we've been at this position.  I  suppose Rankin is as good as anyone for a backup center.

I considered Jitim.  He was physical, worked his butt off, and could ignite a spark coming off the bench, but he would have made a better football player.

I probably should have considered Jim Stack.
