PSU played without two starters last night, Billy Oliver and someone else. So they managed to overcome a "short bench" and not lose by 20 unlike the Cats against UW. Course Illinois was playing before an almost empty gym last night instead of a packed house in Evanston with almost half of the place Illini supporters.............

Illinois' 7-foot-1 center Myers Leonard fouled out, so Penn State coach Patrick
hambers knew exactly what play to run off a timeout with 16 seconds left and
he game on the line. Give the ball to point guard Tim Frazier and have him
ttack the basket. Nice plan. Frazier hit a floater in the lane with 8 seconds
eft and Jermaine Marshall blocked Sam Maniscalco's layup at the buzzer to give
enn State a 54-52 upset of No. 25 Illinois on Thursday night. Frazier finished
ith 12 points and nine assists for the Nittany Lions (10-10, 2-5 Big Ten), who
nded a three-game losing skid.
