I agree that the road to twenty wins has gotten a lot more difficult.
We are now at 11-4
The following schedule gets us to 19-11. Don't know if that will be
enough, but I'm also not sure where you find another win. Even this
schedule has us taking two from Iowa and winning at Indiana.
01/11/12 at Michigan L
01/14/12 vs. Michigan State L
01/18/12 at Wisconsin L
01/22/12 at Minnesota W
01/28/12 vs. Purdue W
02/02/12 vs. Nebraska W
02/05/12 at Illinois L
02/09/12 vs. Iowa W
02/12/12 at Purdue L
02/15/12 at Indiana W
02/18/12 vs. Minnesota W
02/21/12 vs. Michigan L
02/25/12 at Penn State W
02/29/12 vs. Ohio State L
03/03/12 at Iowa W
Clearly Illinois demonstrated that if you can take Shurna out of the
mix, NU is going to struggle to score. But going 6-11 in the second
half from the FT line is clearly unacceptable. These guys are missing
the confidence and spark that Juice brought them last year. Shurna is a
great player, but he just doesn't seem to be the guy who can pick the
team up in these tough close games. Crawford tried to be that guy last
night, but couldn't get his shots to fall from the field or the FT line.
So who is going to be that guy for NU?
Hopefully they find him by the Minny game at the end of the month.
Jeff

If our Tournament chances were prevoiusly in critical condition, we're
now
on life support. Unless this team finds some magic we're staring hard
at
an 11-9 record by the next time we'll be favored to win a game. It's
a damn shame.
