[NU Sports] interesting about streak 2.0

Yeah, bowl blitz pretty much sucks all around for the Big Ten -- I have no idea why the games aren't staggered so the fans could at least see some of them. Judging by the vast amount of empty seats across Florida and in Dallas, they sure weren't seeing them in person.
Maybe we can work out a deal with the Pac 10 and get more prime time bowls throughout "Bowl Week" (plus or minus 10 days) instead of this? We could have the Holiday Bowl one night, Alamo the next ... keep the SEC tie with Tampa (since that seems preferable over Orlando for fans and now since they're the same time anyway), but look at more spread out games in prime time (since January 1 has also lost its meaning as bowl day - thanks B(C)S).
The only good thing about this glut of games at once is that you only have to deal with the "SEC is so much better than the Big Ten" (well duh - no one is contesting that, we're contesting that the Big Ten isn't #2!) stories once.
Nice comeback by Sparty - hope they can pull it out in OT. Reminiscent of our Outback game (with a bit less scoring).
Go Big Ten!
GO CATS!!!

Speaking of the Outback, great game going on, with stirring comeback by Sparty, but there are sure a lot of seats with no fannies in them (and not 'cause fans are standing) on a day with good weather (unlike our game with Auburn).

In all 9 bowl losses we were underdogs, by an average of 8.5 points. We
were supposed to lose all those games.
Had we been in Detroit or SF this year we would have been favored. So I
will still disagree with those on the panel who feel we should be in the
"best bowl possible."
No one will ever remember that the Meinicke Bowl was "higher" than the
"Fight Hunger" Bowl, only that we lost.
Still hurting about the Outback and Auburn, we should have won that game, I
still go over those last few minutes in my head thinking maybe I will wake
up in a different parallel universe where the outcome was different. Then
we wouldn't be having this conversation!
