[NU Sports] New Palm projections

IF we beat Iowa, we would almost certainly end up as the No. 7 seed, playing No. 10.in "Game 3" on ESPN2 at 5:30 p.m. ET on Thurs. March 8th.

Jonathan is correct--as of now, we would face Gophers. However, if they slip ahead of the Illini (who are 1 game up on them), we get Webber and his athletic "non-team". By the same token, if somehow Minny falls behind either the Huskers or Nits, then we could get either of those squads. But if I had to bet, I'd say that Tubby is on the horizon--a winnable game, to be sure, but certainly a very tough opponent on a neutral court, with all of the pressure on NU.

This is going to be one helluva ride down the home stretch. We just better stay focused--and healthy. The ironic thing is--and I hate to admit this fault publicly--I have finally conquered my horrid "nail biting" habit, after a lifetime of struggle. Will the 'Cats cause a relapse into the abyss?:-) Stay tuned....

As of today, Minnesota, but it could be almost any of the lower tier teams,
ncluding Illinois, Iowa, or even Nebraska or Penn State - a lot depends on
hat NU & others do the final 2 games of the regular season (Indiana &
urdue are at 9-7 and are the 5 & 6 seeds; NU & Iowa are 7-9 and are the 7
8 seeds). Note that the 5-12 seeds play on Thursday; 1-4 have a bye.

Who is NU likely to face in the first round of the Big Ten tourney?
