[NU Sports] New Palm projections

You can make all the assertions you want (and your gambling habits are your business), but if NU loses its next two games the NCAA won't be searching around for some other Big Ten team to be the 7th in the field. "Awareness" does not imply relevance, and countless actual past tournament fields are evidence against your claim. Think about it: every year, people always gripe, "How could the committee put in X teams from This Conference and only Y teams in from That Conference?" Because it doesn't work that way, and it never has.
Beyond that, I'm not sure why anyone is surprised that nothing is set in stone yet. There must be close to a thousand games left to play before the selection show, and nearly all of them have some sort of effect on where the "cut line" will eventually be. What I wouldn't give to see the Wildcats forget about what might be "enough" and just win.

Regardless of what some past committee members say publicly, I can assure you most of them are very aware of how many teams each conference is receiving. And I am willing to bet anyone that there is no way they will give the Big East 9 teams and the Big Ten 6.
Also, has any BCS school with an RPI in the mid-40s and a signature win over a number 1 or 2 seed ever been left out?
As the article Jonathan links to points out, it may be difficult for a reporter to follow what's going on at the conf level when things are moving that quickly in the committee room in a mock selection. I can assure you for a University AD on the committee that it is not.
