When will we stop making excuses for Bill Carmody ? He is now in his twelth season as NU coach. Maybe his 'system' of getting lower-ranked prospects to (sometimes) play at a very high level' is why they can overachieve one game, and fall flat the next ? Or maybe NU has been losing for so long on the court ? Gary Barnett took a program that had been losing forever, and in 5 seasons, took them to 2 Big Ten titles. And Barnett was not getting the highest-ranked prospects, but he certainly got consistent overachievement from his players.
We have to face facts - Carmody has, over twelve seasons, not recruited sufficiently talented players, and has not gotten them to over-achieve on a consistent basis.

Time to run the table. We have the capability to do that even with the blowout
loss to the Bucks earlier

I think that we just got beat by a better team last night.
UoM had every reason the let down after beating OSU, bit didn't.
They just played better D than us.
They forced us out of our game by aggressively defending the three and switching
on all screens.
They were able to get their three point shooters open looks against our D and
those kids made their shots.
We had them in foul trouble early, but they fixed that in the second half.
Sobo had another tough game, but you really can't blame this on him. All our
kids gave max effort and just ran out of gas in OT.
It was a very tough loss, because a win was there for the taking. Just turned
out that UoM was the one who took it.
