"So the question at the heart of Weber’s demise is this: Why is it so much more difficult
to get better players to overachieve? Maybe Weber is just more adept at getting more out
of less. But you also have to consider this possibility: Maybe good players are harder to
coach today. Maybe the increasing influence of AAU programs in the development of young
players — and the decreasing influence of high school coaches — instills a sense of
entitlement in talented players that makes it difficult for a coach like Bruce Weber to
get through to them."

And maybe NU's (Bill Carmody's) system of getting lower ranked prospects to (sometimes)
play at a very high level is why NU can overachieving one game, and fall flat the next?

Or maybe it is just that NU has been losing for so long on the court...

Kelly Amonte-Hiller didn't have that baggage when she took came in to start the Women's
Lacrosse program. She had her personal tradition of winning (from Maryland) and never had
to face the "never been there" syndrome that always seem to lurk in the background at
Welsh-Ryan.

I know that once you lose that "winning" feeling, it can take a long time to get it back.
If you've never had a real winner, creating a winner is even harder.
