Before Cobb's return to the team...
Who'd have thought that NU could have Shurna & Crawford on the bench and make a nice run to tie the game...and then, with Shurna & Crawford back on the floor, but Sobolewski on the bench with two fouls, that the Cats would open a seven-point lead going into halftime?
All of a sudden the Cats have a bit of depth and a bit of balance. Getting Michigan into team foul trouble was big...among the benefits was that UM couldn't risk pressing the Cats' guards when Sobolewski was on the bench.
Reggie Hearn is Mr. Lunch-pail, Heart, Dependable, Fundamental...Boards-crasher.
Davide Curletti is no longer the Invisible Man - - the Michigan native awakens on offense for the home games against teams from his home state.
Shurna quietly in doubly figures and did a nice job of involving his teammates.
Nice defense in man-to-man and 1-3-1.
Tense...
P.S. Nice to see McKinney/Shurna pregame ceremony - - two fine reps of our alma mater!
