[NU Sports] My personal key to the game

Everyone agrees tonight's game against Indiana is a big one for us. And, many of us - at least when it comes to NU football - have certain rituals on game day. It could be what we wear, what we eat, or where we're sitting when we watch one of our games.

Regarding basketball and this year's team, I think we have lost most of the conference games I've watched. I missed the big MSU win, and I missed a few other key victories as well.

So, my personal key to the game is that I won't watch it, and it will hopefully be a blessing. The contest actually starts at 3:30 in the afternoon Pacific time, and I'll be in court at that time. Then, when my work day is over, I'm heading to downtown L.A. to see the last-ever UCLA-SC basketball game at the old L.A. Sports Arena, UCLA's temporary home this season. Hey, I know both teams stink this year, but who am I to turn down a couple of good, free tickets.

I'll be paying attention to the Cats game on my cell phone, however, and if we can win, I imagine it would be our biggest road win this season. So, Go Cats!

Jim B.
