[NU Sports] Bubble Watch

I think I read in the Trib that Sobo got fired up after reading Juice's comment about him
hitting the wall.

And I think BC was dropping hints about someone else stepping up and making shots.

Both Marco and Hearn appear to have listened, and Davide seems to be playing with a bit
more fire lately.

In any case, the 2nd half of the game with Iowa had some amazing ball recoveries, and guys
going for balls like we haven't seen in many many years. We have guys going way up for
rebounds, stuff Jitim used to do and we all know we haven't seen that in a while.

If we can just keep it up, through Winter finals, and hit dOSU with confidence, and who
knows. This team will let us forget Esch, and Juice, and Jitim, and Vedran, but hopefully
they'll all be courtside for the first round.

Jerry Palm has NU on top of his "Bubble Watch" ranked teams at the moment:

Right behind us are the Boilers, so tomorrow's game is just HUGE. If we can "Lin" (to use
today's favorite word), we will take not just a "small step", but "one giant leap" towards
a tourney berth. As Willie Weinbaum wrote to me earlier today, if we can go 4-3 down the
stretch (and then not completely flop in Indy at the BTT), we should be looking good for
an invite. Considering where we were a few short weeks ago, the skies are brightening.
If we can only get a little healthier, so we have some depth, and Carmody can play some
match-ups, the news should be good, as the team finally seems to be learning how to win
games, not give them away. As the Giants showed in the NFL, once a team gets its mojo and
confidence, and has some playmakers, it's hard to stop. We always had the
playmakers--Shurna and Crawford--and now the 'Cats are putting together the mojo and are
gaining confidence, all at the right time. I hate to get too far ahead of things here,
but it's fun to at le ast get to play this game. Usually, by the time mid-February rolls
around, we are looking at either NIT or nothing (i.e., playing for pride). By the way,
when is Selection Sunday?????
