Cobb has already played in 11 games, which I believe is over the limit for
applying for a medical hardship waiver (must play less than 30% of the
regular season, which would be somewhere around 9 games), so I do not
believe he would be eligible.  Since he did not voluntarily redshirt his
freshman year he could still use that, but that would require sitting out
an entire year (so he wouldn't be able to do that this year).  The fact is
that this team is still extremely short on depth (it was before the
injuries that have come and gone all season) and Carmody didn't really have
the luxury of sitting him down for the year except for a clear
season-ending injury.
