[NU Sports] Sun-Times mixes up its NU heartbreakers

Funny, game could be fulcrum, where if 'Cats continue (finally) to roll and pick up enough W's to get asked to go dancin' (still a steep climb, to be sure), we may look back upon this pre-Supe upset as the day Carmody "saved" his job.
And Bruce Webber may have seen his job go slip slidin' away. His situation is approaching the precarious position the Zooker found himself in.

Very large headine in the sports section of today's "Champaign News-Gazette":
"FAITH NO MORE: Rare home loss to rival a blow to Illini fans' confidence"
And a great large picture of Sobo competing with Meyers for the ball.

Didn't see the underlined/red portion unless you meant the comments.
The Ill-whiny fans who commented were not happy with the loss or Weber.
In the trib article, Weber questioned his teams intensity, particularly
on defense.
I thought Weber's comment about the long minutes played by his starters
was interesting. He held his younger players out because he wasn't sure
they would be effective defending NU's complicated offense. As a
result, I think our guys were able to wear down their starters
(particularly Leonard). We just seemed to have more energy at the end
than they did.

See underlined/red portion - - that was actually the game in which a
driving Drew Crawford was stopped by Meyers Leonard at the buzzer (the
Shurna miss was on a long desperation shot at the buzzer against
Purdue).

Hearn said the Wildcats wanted to get back at the Illini, who won 57-56
at Welsh-Ryan Arena on Jan. 4. That was a winnable game for NU, which
had come from behind. But Shurna missed a three-point shot at the
buzzer.
