You don't suppose that Sobo is working his way out of the Frosh Slump? He seemed very much
in control tonight, he only had that one lapse late in the game that led to a TO.
But the older guys stepped it up, and pulled away.
And the game was on ESPN2 around here....

Subject: [NU Sports] Shurna leads the way
Second half:
The suddenly hot-shooting Huskers, aided by a sloppy and misfiring NU offense and porous
defense, cut the lead to one point. This looked like it could be a last-straw for the
Cats collapse. Then Shurna & Crawford shined, and Sobolewski provided an important spark,
Hearn hit a trey and the Cats were back up by double digits.
Then Nebraska pressed and the Cats got frazzled, committing repeated turnovers...and
Nebraska made this one again seem like a potential epic disintegration. But the Cats kept
hitting free throws, Shurna was solid (28 points and excellent defense, to go with a 20+
night for Crawford) and the team held off the Huskers.
This was far from a masterpiece - - far too many times were the Huskers able to get easy
shots in the second half, especially on drives to the hoop. And the Cats' failure to come
to help Sobolewski against the press was agony to watch.
But the Cats actually exceeded the Vegas expectations (the spread was a touchdown). So
whether it's football or basketball, the Huskers have gotten a rude welcome from the Cats.
Hope's alive. :)
