That was indeed an interesting article, thanks for sharing Chuck.

It's hard to understand why the NCAA couldn't simply ditch the existing
bowl system in favor of holding the major bowls in a variety of locations.
 The teams will undoubtedly get better terms if they open the hosting role
to competition, like the basketball tournament does.  With the exception of
the Rose Bowl, I feel no sentimental attachment whatsoever to any of the
other bowls or their locations.  It's nice to see this system is finally
getting the scrutiny it deserves.  Plus, it would be nice to see Pac-10 and
SEC fans travel north for bowl games (say, Detroit or Indianapolis) once in
a while.
