[NU Sports] Basketball transfer

Anybody who played four years for Pitino is OK in my book. Rick is as good a coach as anyone around, so our new guy probably has great fundamentals. And, as Mark points out, someone who has been to and played well in the Dance is a novelty in Evanston and can play the same role Tyson Chandler is now playing on the Knicks--the guy with the Ring who leads the way and sets the example on what it takes to win as a team. This is welcome news.

Unlike Aaron, I *know* I have seen every game Swop played at UofL and I
can't think of a better addition for the Cats for next year. He will fit
in beautifully with Carmody's schemes, both offense and equally, if not
more importantly, defense. Swop has big game and tournament experience and
is not afraid to take the big shot when needed. He can score, rebound,
passes well and plays tenacious defense.
As Roy said, he graduated in four years and NU was the only place he
visited. He and his dad know the NBA is unlikely and want to take
advantage of the opportunity to get a NU Masters degree. He has his head
screwed on right.
His leadership and experience may be just what we need to close out games
next year and finally make it to the Dance.
