... but with the college hoops season nearing an end, it's time to begin the countdown to the spring game and ultimately, the football season.

I was in Vegas last weekend for my brother's bachelor party and picked up an odds sheet that I rediscovered this weekend while doing laundry.

They don't seem to be high on any Big Ten team for the B(C)S title (top five are USC, Bama, LSU, Oklahoma and Oregon), but in order we have ...

- Notre Dame at 18/1 (though the wannabe Big Ten's teams lines are always skewed by their following - much like the Cubbies in MLB)
- Michigan at 25/1 (up from a 35/1 opening)
- MSU at 35/1
- Nebraska at 40/1
- Wisconsin at 50/1
- Iowa at 50/1
- Ill-noise at 100/1 (same as Stanford without Luck or peppy lil' Jimmy Harbaugh)
- Penn State at 125/1
- Northwestern at 150/1
- The rest are in the field or, in dOSU's case, ineligible (poor St. Urban ... yeah, right).

Looks like the Big Ten's over-tinkering efforts to balance their divisions have already fallen flat, as the power is definitely in the Northwest Division.
With OSU in the penalty box and PSU rebuilding after a devastating 2011 season, Badger fans should already have their hotel reservations in Indy set.

So it looks like we have our work cut out for us this year in the tough division ...
