[NU Sports] Musings

Not looking too far ahead, but I feel the same way about Michigan. ESPN talked
about how great Michigan's defense was in shutting down SD State's vaunted
offense, but SD self-destructed with numerous turnovers deep in Michigan
territory. I believe that SD was in Michigan territory 11 times and only got
one score out of it.
Robinson is an incredible athlete, and he will get his 150 plus rushing yards,
but he is a very ordinary passer. I think that Michigan is a winnable game if
the Cats play well.
Unfortunately, Michigan gets Minnesota at home next week, so they are likely to
come into Evanston 5-0 and ranked in the Top 15.
Hopefully, the Cats will step up in the next two weeks (and the two weeks after
that).

Western Michigan threw for over 300 yards but managed to rush only 35 yards, yes
35 yards for the entire game. Yet, Illinois was life and death to win. I have
renewed optimism about next week. There is no way our offense will be that
one-sided and if Illinois gets down early, the Cats should be able to keep them
there.
