[NU Sports] SEC leaving Aggies at the altar?

I couldn't stand watching Pitt's inevitable choke or stomach any more praise from the announcers on how patient Brian Kelley was being "in Brian Kelley terms" today (plus, Urban Meyer is even more nauseating as a commentator than coach - yeesh, who'd think someone could make Joe Buck/Troy Aikman look lively!) ...

So I switched over to the CBS pregame show and the CBS studio crew (who could give the Big Ten folks and even NBC's Notre Dame crew a lesson on how to read conference talking points and support the home team) seemed to be running away as quickly as possible from the ATM/SEC merger, blathering on about how the Aggies could "save face" now that Texas is giving up some of their money and how the wonderful rivalries of  Texas could be preserved (and lamenting how no one is there to step in and take control over the college football monster the SEC/CBS are largely responsible for creating ...).

Coming from the CBS folks, this seems like a clear push by the SEC to tell the Aggies that they had a fun little fling, but they need to go on home because marriage is not in their future. Hmmmmm ...

PS - Here's hoping someone listens to these laments and DOES get a commish in charge of college football -- one who tears apart the B(C)S and makes them actually decide a champion on the field! :) Be careful what you ask for, SEC/CBS folk ...
