It looks like Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Texas are getting
closer to working out a deal with the Pac-whatever. ESPN says that Texas
gets to keep its network but they would have to carry more Pac-12 content.
Does that mean Texas still gets to keep all the money?
That means the Forgotton Five, Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State
and Missouri, could be out in the cold within a few weeks. The AD at
Rutgers is quoted as saying that the next 30 days will be telling.
Missouri could still become the 14th school in the SEC, something I
suggested several weeks back.
A marriage of convenience (which is never convenient) between the remnants
of the Big East and the remnants of the Big 12 seems likely.
Notre Dame seems committed to its independence, and I would imagine the
Big East (which may need renaming) will continue to welcome it as member
in non-football sports.
