Given that I don't get ESPNU, I'm definitely happy this next game will be on BTN. Sadly, I'll be away again at a wedding, but can deploy the DVR-delayed-viewing technique for this one. 

As for your phone, if the need arises, try just going to "wgnradio.com" in your phone's browser. In my case, I was automatically prompted to download the appropriate (free) app, and then it was just a matter of firing up that app and selecting WGN. I'm guessing it will work that way on most smart phones. 

I think the most surprising aspect of using the internet-via-phone in the moving car was the lack of dropouts. I really thought it would be constantly dropping and re-acquiring the feed, but it was really robust. Of course, that comes at the price of the proliferation of all those hideous cell towers dotting the rural landscape.....
