I personally hope the college football world avoids four 16-team conferences. I don't see how it will be good in the long run. 16 teams doesn't feel like much of a conference. You're play 7 teams in your division and at most 2 from the other division. I think NU would have a hard time competing though that's not the primary reason I'm against it. 

My gut tells me that the following will happen, but I don't like it. 

A) The super conferences are formed.
B) They eventually break away from the NCAA.
C) They start paying athletes. 

That being said, I know that the Big Ten still still going after Notre Dame and some eastern schools (Rutgers and/or Maryland), so we'll see what happens.
