[NU Sports] More on OU

Texas is finding itself too smart by half. By overplaying its hand in
keeping the Big XII together last year, and then proceeding to announce its
TV network in a manner designed for maximum offensiveness to the rest of the
conference, they are now in a corner. The Big XII clearly will not survive
a year and the Pac-12, Big Ten and SEC all require members to assign to the
conference the television rights to all of their football and basketball
games, which would leave the Longhorn Network with precious little headline
programming to meet its obligations under that rich ESPN contract, so what's
an orangeblood to do? Join the Mountain West? BYU wanted out over its
television network. The Big East? All of its schools are required to
assign their rights to the league too. Looks like UT is about to become the
odd man out or about to lose their precious network. It is, as they say in
Texas, nut cutting time.

If nothing else, it's entertaining as hell to watch.
