Well, I kind of wanted Stanford to lose for the B(C)-Mess chaos it would create and because they're overrated ... but it is $C and Kiffin is a lil' whiny jerk, so win-win either way.

I really didn't get the impression that the Treez could play with anyone, though. Their defense looked awful. Almost Northwestern awful. The difference is that they play in a weaker league and their offense has a running game to go with a top-notch QB ... and they're aggressive enough to keep scoring like they need to do.

I'm still not sold that they can keep scoring with Oregon, though, even in Palo Alto. But if they get by that and make the title game, it could get ugly - though I'd root for them.

I just don't think Stanford's done anything to justify being ahead of Boise - their best win is at SC in triple OT, while Boise won at Georgia handily. If they can beat Oregon they have a case, but I did not come away from this game with anything but what we already suspected - Stanford has a top-notch offense and a really bad defense.

Maybe we're not so different after all (minus the running game, unfortunately).
