[NU Sports] How on earth did we lose to Illinois and Penn State

I was thinking the same thing Mike. Sadly, I think it's indicative of just how bad our defense is. We make mediocre and flat-out bad offenses look unstoppable.
The good news is that it's clear our offense is indeed pretty potent, because both Illinois and PSU can play some good D.
I think we can score some against the Huskers, but even 24 points or so would be a good outing against that D, and our D is giving up about twice that many per game.
Martinez seems to be getting worse at throwing the ball, but as good as they are running it and as bad as we are against play-action, we'll be lucky if we don't give up a bunch of big pass plays.
The Cats will need Burkhead to have an off game and Martinez to put the ball on the ground a few times, maybe lob the ball to our defense a couple times as well.

I'm watching the game, Penn State's offense is terrible and Illinois
hasn't exactly looked great, either.
How did we lose to those teams??
I said to my wife early in the game that I thought we'd win 58-46, I wasn't
far off.
The Husker defense looked revved up for MSU to day, they'll be tough
to beat in Lincoln next week.
But the annual Big Ten Round Robin is complete: Wisconsin beats Nebraska,
Michigan State beats Wisconsin, Nebraska beats Michigan State, all at home.
